Case Study

Load equalization project of the data center of a large-size state-owned bank

A three-layered architecture that includes WEB service, application service and data service was adopted for the application system of the data center of a large-size bank. In order to increase the performances and efficiency of the servers, CISCO ACE load equalizer was deployed for load scheduling of WEB and application data flows.

ACE is characterized by a logic side-hanging mode and ACE load equalization services are flexibly available according to business needs. Meanwhile, a load equalization module that can be directly mounted on the tandem switch is adopted for ACE. The schematic diagram of the overall solution is as follows:

After the project was launched into operation, the performance and availability of the bank's application services were improved. The client can extend applications by adding physical servers according to business needs. At the same time, ACE load equalizer automatically forwards the business data to another server in normal operation when any single physical server has a fault, hence guaranteeing the availability of services.
