Phase II project of network administration system of a large-size state-owned bank headquarters

With the continuous optimization and integration of the network system of a large-size state-owned bank, a nationwide network administration platform became essential. Following completion of the Phase I project (Netcool platform), the master plan and design of the nationwide network administration platform has been finished. As a result, a Phase II project needs to be initiated to establish a network administration platform across the 36 Class A branches in China and also the backup and development test system of the headquarters network administration platform. It is also necessary to expand and optimize the functions of the central network administration platforms in Shanghai and Beijing in order to realize the uniform monitoring, control and scientific management of the whole network, increase the availability of the network and optimize network resources.

We have observed scientific project management methods in the implementation of the project:

§Set up a project team: consists of the project leadership, project manager, project members and project supervisors and clear-cut division of labors is also established among them.

§ Feasibility of the plan: formulate a detailed plan and try to distribute the time accurately; consider risk factors, reserve necessary resources and guarantee sufficient buffer time;

§ Emphasize enforcement: strictly perform the daily reporting, weekly reporting and weekly meeting system and strictly guarantee the achievements of project milestones;

§ Evaluate risks and formulate a preliminary emergency response plan;

§ Clarify the schedules, tasks and resource distributions at various stages of the project.
