1. Project background

The project owner is a Sino-foreign joint venture insurance broker that has five branches in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Guangzhou and Chengdu.
In order to guarantee business development, developing a brand-new communication platform that integrates voice and data networks becomes the focus of its efforts to establish a communication system.

General requirements:

Office IP voice system shall support the business developments of the Company in the next three to five years;

In addition to the central office, the system shall also cover various offices across the network in the future;

The new system is characterized by pure IP switching and it also has such value-added application platforms as voice mail and meeting system;

Existing network platforms are utilized for the new network if possible.

2. Project scale

With Shanghai being the headquarters, Call Manager Cluster essential control equipment (two MCS7825I3-K9-CMC1) and Cisco Unity (MCS-7825-I3-ECS1) voice mail system were deployed. Meeting Place Express (MCS-7835-I2-RC1) was also deployed in the Shanghai headquarters. The IP telephones of the four branch offices (Beijing, Nanjing, Guangzhou and Chengdu) were connected to and registered with the headquarters' voice gateway. The headquarters and the branch offices all have their respective router voice gateways and PSTN exits and it is possible to establish flexible call routing with the help of Call Manager. When the WAN IP communication between any branch office and the headquarters is terminated, the IP telephone of the branch office will be automatically registered with the router without affecting the local IP telephone communications.

Based on remote VPN access, the mobile computer is installed with IP SOFT PHONE for flexible and secure office work handling.
